Hospital Gas Detection
COVID-19 Notice
NHS health chiefs in the UK have warned hospitals of the increased risks of “combustion” on the wards due to the higher number of ventilators being used to treat COVID-19 patients.
Our Crowcon O2 portable gas detector is a low-cost Oxygen monitor. The Oxygen gas meter alarms at recognised dangerous levels, protecting patients and staff from high oxygen levels which can cause explosions as well as oxygen deficiency.
Hospitals use a range of potentially toxic gases which pose a risk to workers and which should be monitored and alarmed for.
CO2 used in incubators and laboratories is a toxic gas and can asphyxiate.
MRI Rooms use Helium gas which can deplete oxygen to dangerous levels and needs monitoring and alarms.
Boilers produce carbon monoxide gas which is toxic, colourless and odourless. Our single and multigas monitors cover for carbon monoxide risk.
Laboratories in hospitals use a range of gases which can be toxic, flammable or cause low levels of oxygen. These gases are often piped into the lab – which is an enclosed area. Personnel need protection from the presence of these gases.
Entry into Confined Spaces requires proper training and the use of portable gas monitors before and during entry.
